SIRTF's solar panels are just barely still visible as the Observatory is enclosed in its launch faring atop a Delta-II rocket on pad 17-B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. SIRTF is due to launch at the end of this month to its unique, earth-trailing orbit.
