October 2002: Located on the campus of the California Institute of Technology, the SIRTF Science Center provides development and operations support for SIRTF, NASA's next Great Observatory. The SSC is responsible for soliciting and reviewing SIRTF research proposals, and for selecting and scheduling observations aboard the observatory. It also provides scientific and technical support for scientists planning observations, and will process SIRTF data for archiving and dissemination to world at large.
