SIRTF Telescope Assembled
March 2000: The SIRTF telescope is Assembled!!
The
SIRTF telescope,
featuring an 85-cm diameter light-weight beryllium
primary mirror, has been assembled. It is currently being aligned at the
Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. The telescope will be delivered
to Ball Aerospace in Boulder, Colorado later this year for integration
into the
cryo-telescope assembly.
