SIRTF telescope prior to CTA integration.
July/August 2001:
The beryllium SIRTF telescope, with its 85-cm diameter primary mirror, being prepared for integration into the cryo-telescope assembly (CTA) at Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corporation in Boulder, Colorado. The cooled CTA will be subjected to a series of tests through August before it is delivered to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company in Sunnyvale, California in October for integration with the SIRTF spacecraft.
